There’s this quiet thing that happens a lot in Nigeria, especially in serious spaces. Women are present, women are affected, women are contributing - but too often, their voices are treated as background noise.
Nigeria’s future cannot be built well if half of the population is only invited to listen. Women’s ideas, leadership, and lived experiences need to shape the rooms where decisions are made.
When women speak, communities gain context. Policy becomes more human. Businesses become more inclusive. Families, cities, and institutions begin to reflect the people they are meant to serve.
Urban Women exists to keep making that visibility normal - not exceptional.
